In case you didn't notice....HE LOOKS LIKE ME!!

Wow, I can hardly believe it's already been nine weeks since Teague was born, the time has just flown by much too fast. We went today for his 2 month check-up and it went very well. We're so blessed to have a very healthy little man. He was 15 lbs 10 oz (100th percentile) and 25 1/4 in (98th percentile) which is still slightly bigger than Colton at this age. My dad is convinced it's so he can defend himself from Colton when they are older, maybe so :) He is still my "angel baby" and rarely fusses. He loves to talk and coo now but he's selective with his smiles. He smiles at us when he wants too (all the dancing around in the world won't make him smile if he doesn't want to). He takes two morning naps that aren't very long but then during the afternoon he usually takes a 3 hour nap that we have to wake him up from. He goes to bed around 7 p.m. and that's usually with us keeping him up later than he wants. I would try and let him nap in the evening and put him down later but the few times we've tried that he does NOT want to wake and still gets up at the same time to eat in the middle of the night so we gave up trying. He slept 11 hours for me at 8 1/2 weeks old. Most nights he wakes anywhere from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and then gets up again four hours later to start the day. I give him lots of kisses and thank yous for being a great sleeper every morning :)

Just in the past few days Teague has started to notice his hands and bat the toys on his bouncy chair. He gets very determined and is pretty good at hitting them and also at grabbing his play mat ring. Despite having a constantly sick and germy older brother he has stayed relatively healthy with only a little congestion that doesn't seem to bother him. Teague take 5 oz bottles every 2 1/2 to 3 hours and he typically nurses in between bottles before bed and then in the middle of the night. It's worked out great for us and now that i'm returning to work I have a good pumping routine and he's a champion bottle taker so we're all set to go.

Speaking of daycare, that has been our biggest issue lately. We found out about a month ago that the school Colton attends is closing in June. Um, seriously????? There are no other daycares in our small town that take infants and the closest is a 20 minute drive into Gainesville. We finally have something worked out but I want to wait to talk about it when it's all final. What I do know for sure is that Teague starts at the current school on March 5 and then both he and Colton will be withdrawn on March 30 to start someplace new. More to come when all is finalized but it's definitely been a roller coaster and added to my sleepless nights!!

I think that's all the updates for now. Please keep me in your prayers as I start back to work next week. I'm so fortunate to have a wonderful job with great coworkers who allow me to put my family first. I'm passionate about the work that I do which certainly makes it more bearable to leave my baby but it still breaks my heart to miss all his coos and smiles and not be there with him during the day. If only I'd gotten my masters degree in motherhood instead of public relations....I guess either way I'd still have student loans to pay :)

Teague's First Photos

When Teague was a week and a half old we had our friend Wendy take some photos. You've seen her work many times on this blog. Teague was actually really alert during the entire shoot and was very patient with us as we moved him around and dressed and undressed him. I also love the shots of Colton holding Teague. He just adores his brother and we don't let him hold him often but when he does he's in heaven. I can't wait to get some of these printed up for the gallery wall that I'm working on for the house.
